Private · local-first · for iPhone
Your everyday life.
One private app.
Walnut brings notes, tasks, shopping, diary entries, medicines, dates, health context and the things you are working towards into one clear place. Ask it to find something or take an action—without sending your personal life to a cloud AI.

What Walnut is
A personal organiser that understands its own tools.
Walnut is not another general chatbot and it is not a social network. It is a set of focused everyday tools, joined by one local assistant and one consistent interface.
Keep the practical stuff
Write a note, log a dose, add a task, check a date, build a packing list or record what happened—without scattering it across unrelated apps.
Find it naturally
Ask uses Walnut's own modules directly. It can retrieve the right detail, show the source and propose an action for you to confirm.
Stay in control
Inspect, correct, export or delete your information. Changing plan never deletes your records, and Free users keep backup, export and deletion tools.
Ask, on your iPhone
One place to ask.
Real tools underneath.
Ask is included on Free and Pro. It can only read or change modules available on your plan, so it never becomes a way around a locked feature or limit.
On Apple Intelligence-capable iPhones, Apple's on-device language model adds more open-ended writing and interpretation. On other supported iPhones, exact actions, lookups, help and source-backed recall still work.
Because that intelligence runs on your device, Walnut naturally grows more capable as Apple's on-device models do — the newer your iPhone, the more it can do — and it all stays private either way, with nothing sent away to get better.
“Add toothpaste and sun cream to shopping.”
“What did I write about the car service?”
“Log two paracetamol tablets.”
“Create a countdown for the holidays.”
Attach screenshots and ask Walnut to propose a packing list or one or more calendar events. Text recognition happens on the device, and Walnut asks when essential details are missing.

Private by design
Your information is not the business model.
Walnut is local-first and account-free, with no advertising or analytics SDKs. Your personal records live on your iPhone — there is no Walnut account and no Walnut server holding your content, so we genuinely cannot read it, sell it or mine it. It stays yours: take a full export and walk away whenever you like.

Ask and memory processing happen on the device. Walnut has no cloud AI service and never silently reroutes a question.
Explicit connections
Apple Weather, Calendar, Health, Location, optional iCloud sync and sharing are used only when you enable the relevant feature.
Protected sharing
Supported shared lists are encrypted on your device before CloudKit relays them. Only paired devices holding the invitation key can read them.
Yours to take
Your data is never locked in. Take a password-encrypted backup or a portable JSON export and leave any time — export and deletion are always free, on Free and Pro.
Plain answers
Before you install.
Who can see my data?
Only you. There's no Walnut account and no Walnut server holding your content, so we can't read it, sell it or mine it — there simply is no developer-held copy. It lives on your iPhone, it's yours, and you can export the lot or delete it whenever you like.
Do my questions to Ask leave my phone?
No — and that's the point. Ask runs on your iPhone, so what you type and what Walnut remembers about you stays with you. There's no cloud AI to send it to. On Apple Intelligence-capable iPhones the on-device model makes answers richer; on other iPhones Ask still does exact actions, lookups and source-backed recall — all locally.
What does it actually cost?
Nothing to be useful. Ask plus eleven modules — Shopping, Todos, Notes, Diary, Meds, Progress, Countdowns, Calendar, Health, Weather and Packing — are free forever, with no trial timer. Pro adds deeper tools and removes the free limits; backup, export and deletion are never paywalled.
If I stop paying for Pro, do I lose anything?
Never. Your data is yours, so nothing is deleted or held hostage: Pro tools simply lock and free limits apply to new additions, while every record stays put and stays in your backups and exports. Resubscribe any time and Pro comes straight back.
How do I keep the private things private?
For the things that are nobody else's business, mark them secret — a diary entry, note, goal, trip or place. Secret items hide behind Face ID (or your passcode), stay out of search, Ask and Memory, and are never shared, appearing only when you tap the padlock in Walnut's header.
Can I share a list without giving anything away?
Yes — with the people you choose and no one else. Pro adds encrypted sharing for Shopping, Todo and Packing: the list is encrypted on your device, and only those you send the invitation to can read it — not even us. Personal use of Shopping and Todo is free.
Will it get better over time?
Yes, and without any of your data leaving the phone. Because Walnut's intelligence runs on-device, it grows more capable as Apple's on-device models do — the newer your iPhone, the more open-ended Ask can be — while every supported iPhone keeps Walnut's exact actions, lookups and recall. Walnut needs iOS 26.4 or later.
Is Walnut medical software?
No — it's a private place to keep track, not a medical device. Meds is your own reminder and record; Health and Body & Mind are your own logs to notice patterns. Walnut doesn't diagnose or give medical advice — that's what a clinician is for.
Project Walnut
Useful, understandable and yours.
The freemium App Store release is in preparation. Walnut requires iOS 26.4 or later.
